Feed the Hungry Partners with Child Action Lanka since 2010

Child Action Lanka Charity is focused on ensuring that vulnerable children everywhere have a chance at a better future.

Child Action Lanka was founded to create a place of safety and support for children in Sri Lanka, by providing food, education and community. It is their mission to elevate these children into better circumstances by providing the foundational blocks to build a good life for themselves.

Debs Edirisinghe was inspired to create a better future for her home country and created Child Action Lanka. She and her team work to improve the quality of life for children in Sri Lanka, providing a food, education and a safe haven to all in their care.

About Sri Lanka

As a tropical island, Sri Lanka is highly vulnerable to climate change and consistently at risk of extreme weather events. Most notably, Sri Lankans are affected by flooding with over 10 million people being impacted in the past 30 years, followed by cyclones and drought (2020).

Rising sea levels and temperature changes have also made storm surges more likely, and threatening agricultural processes leaving an estimated 17% of the population experiencing food insecurity (2023).

Sri Lanka is in an ongoing economic crisis since 2019, causing unprecedented levels of inflation and shortages in supplies. The uncertain living conditions are causing many people to make the difficult decision to leave their home.
