Providing Essential Aid in Israel During Times of Conflict
In the midst of the ongoing conflict, Pastor Sergey and Pastor Natasha from ICF Tel Aviv have been leading the efforts in running the Generous Basket Project.
A simple hamper that has been able to keep a family fed for a week has seen a significant increase in its demand. Initially, this project was made to help new immigrants, refugees and single mothers, but has begun to reach displaced Israelis fleeing affected areas.
Since the start of the war, the Generous Basket Project has:
Distributed 758 food boxes to families in need
Delivered 12,000 kg of humanitarian aid
Assisted 3,348 individuals with the support of dedicated volunteers
About Israel
The current situation in Israel involves escalating conflict with both Hamas and Hezbollah. Since October 2023, hostilities have intensified, with Hamas launching numerous rocket strikes from Gaza, while Hezbollah, based in Lebanon, has engaged in cross-border attacks on Israel’s northern regions.
This two-front conflict has resulted in widespread displacement, civilian casualties, and damage to infrastructure, with Israeli families fleeing military zones.
The humanitarian crisis is growing, particularly among children and vulnerable populations, as the violence continues on both fronts.
